LIVE FISH FOOD - FLIGHTLESS FRUIT FLY culture for betta killifish

Drosophila melanogaster - flightless fruit fly.

This fruit fly is an alternative to the live feeds in. The culture is very easy and clean, odor-free.

You need: One glass pipe /test tube or bottle of olives /, half apple, 2 tablespoon oat flour, 1 teaspoon gelatin, 1/2 teaspoon sugar, 1/2 teaspoon wine vinegar and a pinch of dried bakers' yeast.

Cook the apple and the oat flour with some water. We need a near homogene mass. May need a mixer.  When it is ready, turn off the fire, and add the vinegar and sugar. Then add the gelatine to the mass. Put this to a glass about  2 cm tall, and put into a fridge while the mass will hardness and not flow. Then sprinkle the yeast on top of the paste. Put the fruit flye culture /that I send you/ the fridge for 3 minutes. The flyes will stunner. Now you can shake the flyes to the new glass with the mass. Put a big cotton wool plug into the glass top. You are finished your work :) It is easy, clean, and odor-free.
